pronoun
Archaic second-person pronoun, familiar or derogatory. Used in historical or period contexts; not used in modern Japanese.
「我主、そこをどれ」と侍が言った。
"You there, move aside," said the samurai.
時代劇では「わぬし」という呼びかけが聞かれる。
In period dramas, one can hear the address 'wanushi'.
The exact derivation is uncertain; the kanji 我主 literally suggest 'my master', but the word was used as a familiar or derogatory second-person pronoun in historical Japanese.
