Casual expression for reaching out to grab something, especially food or small items. Often used when someone can't resist taking something.
テーブルの上のクッキーに、つい手が出てしまった。
I couldn't help reaching for the cookies on the table.

I have a habit of immediately reaching for snacks when I see them.
