Used when physically lifting someone, often from a lying or fallen position, or helping them sit up by supporting their body.

• 倒たおれた人ひとを抱だき起おこした。

  I lifted the person who had fallen.

• 病びょう人にんを抱だき起おこして、水みずを飲のませた。

  I helped the sick person sit up and gave them water.
