suru verb (special), transitive verb
A somewhat literary or poetic verb for gently stroking or caressing someone or something. In modern casual speech, 撫でる (なでる) is more common.
彼女は子猫の背中を優しく撫した。
She gently stroked the kitten's back.
風が頬
The wind blew as if caressing my cheeks.
