noun
quasi-public goods
Economics term for goods that are not fully public but have some public-good characteristics, such as being non-rival but excludable. Compare with 公共財 (pure public goods).
See also: 公共財
準公共財の例として、有料道路やケーブルテレビが挙げられる。
Examples of quasi-public goods include toll roads and cable television.
公共財 refers to pure public goods that are both non-rival and non-excludable, while 準公共財 are quasi-public goods that may be excludable or partially rival.
Compound of 準 (quasi-, semi-) and 公共財 (public goods). The term is a direct calque from English 'quasi-public goods' used in economics.
