special rapid service; special fast train
A train service category in Japan, faster than a regular rapid train but slower than a limited express. Often abbreviated as 特快 (とっかい).
The Chūō Line special rapid service makes few stops between Shinjuku and Tachikawa.
If you take the special rapid train, you'll arrive faster than by the regular rapid train.
