noun
singular matrix
A square matrix whose determinant is zero, and which therefore has no inverse. Used in linear algebra.
特異行列は逆行列を持たない。

正則行列 (regular/non-singular matrix) has a non-zero determinant and an inverse, opposite of 特異行列.
Compound of 特異 (singular, peculiar) and 行列 (matrix). The term is a direct mathematical calque from English 'singular matrix'.
