Blood Pond; pool of blood (in hell)
Buddhist term for a hellish pond of blood, often associated with the Blood Pond Hell (血の池地獄). Also used metaphorically for a scene of carnage.
The Blood Pond Hell is said to be where those who shed blood in life fall into.
The battlefield was truly a pool of blood.
