noun
doing as one is told; yes-man
Describes a person who always obeys without question. Often used in phrases like 言うなりになる (to do as one is told) or 言うなり放題 (to have someone at one's beck and call). The cross-reference 言いなり is a more common variant.

More common variant with the same meaning. 言うなり is less frequent but still used.
Compound of 言う (to say) and なり (form of なる, to become), literally 'becoming what is said'. The exact derivation is uncertain, but it follows a pattern of noun formation from verb stems.
