Often used in the 〜て form (足に任せて) to mean letting one's feet decide the direction, wandering without a fixed destination.
足に任せて歩いていたら、知らない町に着いた。
I walked where my feet took me and ended up in an unfamiliar town.

I like to wander around tourist spots aimlessly.
