reverse sente
A Go term: a move that would be sente (initiative) for the opponent if they played it, but is gote (losing initiative) for the player who actually plays it. Compare 逆ヨセ.
This move becomes reverse sente, so you need to read carefully before playing it.
By playing a reverse sente move, you can erase the opponent's sente.
逆ヨセ is a related endgame concept where a move that would be the opponent's sente endgame play is taken first. 逆先手 is a broader term that can apply outside the endgame as well.
Compound of 逆 (reverse) and 先手 (sente, initiative). A technical term from the game of Go.
