precision; precision ratio
Technical term in information retrieval and statistics: the fraction of retrieved items that are relevant. Often contrasted with 再現率 (recall).
See also: 再現率
The performance of a search engine is evaluated by precision and recall.
The higher the precision, the less noise there is in the search results.
Compound of 適合 (てきごう, 'conformity, matching') and 率 (りつ, 'rate, ratio'). The term is a direct translation of the English 'precision ratio' used in information science.
