Usage patterns

• 錨いかりを上あげるto raise the anchor (weigh anchor)

  船ふねは錨いかりを上あげて出しゅっ港こうした。

  The ship weighed anchor and left port.

• 錨いかりを下おろすto drop/lower the anchor

  湾わんに着つくと、船ふねは錨いかりを下おろした。

  Upon reaching the bay, the ship dropped anchor.

• 錨いかりを巻まくto wind up/reel in the anchor

  船せん員いんたちは錨いかりを巻まく作さ業ぎょうを始はじめた。

  The sailors began winding up the anchor.
