Slang for someone who adopts surfer style or carries a surfboard but rarely or never actually surfs. Often used mockingly or self-deprecatingly.

• 彼かれはいつもサーフボードを持もち歩あるいているけど、実じつはただの陸おかサーファーだよ。

  He always carries a surfboard around, but he's actually just a dry surfer.

• 海うみに行いったことないのに、サーフブランドの服ふくばかり着きてる陸おかサーファーが増ふえてるらしい。

  Apparently there are more and more dry surfers who wear surf-brand clothes even though they've never been to the beach.
