A traditional Japanese tea made from roasted barley grains, served hot or cold. Often called 麦茶 (むぎちゃ) in modern usage, but 麦湯 is an older or more literary term.
In summer, I like to drink cold barley tea.
Traditional barley tea has a roasted aroma similar to hojicha.
