• 夜よ道みちを一人ひとりで歩あるくのはおっかない。

  Walking alone at night is frightening.

i-adjective

extreme; exaggerated; huge

Archaic use meaning 'extreme' or 'exaggerated'; not used in modern Japanese outside of historical or dialectal contexts.

• 昔むかしの言こと葉ばで「おっかない」は「途と方ほうもない」という意い味みでも使つかわれた。

  In old language, おっかない was also used to mean 'outrageous' or 'extreme'.
