Describes someone acting overly proper, refined, or affectedly elegant; can refer to the attitude or the person themselves. Often used in the phrase おすましをする or おすまし顔.

  She always puts on airs and is hard to approach.

• あの子こは写しゃ真しんを撮とるときだけおすまし顔がおになる。
