A traditional Kyoto-area festival held in the 11th lunar month, featuring bonfires at shrines. The reading おほたき is a historical variant.

京きょう都とでは、11月がつにお火ひ焚たきが行おこなわれる神じん社じゃが多おおい。
In Kyoto, many shrines hold the Ohitaki festival in November.
お火ひ焚たきの夜よる、参さん道どうに焚たかれた火ひが美うつくしい。
On the night of Ohitaki, the fires lit along the approach to the shrine are beautiful.
