Common in the pattern 〜にフォーカスする, meaning to direct attention, effort, discussion, or analysis toward a particular point.

A rare or dated media-slang use meaning to photograph someone secretly, especially in a tabloid or paparazzi-like context. It is much less transparent to learners than 盗撮する or 隠し撮りする.

  In older entertainment articles, one may see that a weekly magazine “focused” a celebrity, meaning it secretly photographed them.
