A glaciology term for a roughly vertical hole or shaft in a glacier through which meltwater can drain.

• 氷ひょう河がの表ひょう面めんに大おおきなムーランが開あいている。

  A large moulin has opened on the surface of the glacier.

• 融とけ水みずはムーランを通とおって氷ひょう河がの底そこへ流ながれ込こむ。

  Meltwater flows through the moulin down to the bottom of the glacier.
