A person who repairs or maintains machines, vehicles, or equipment. For an official job title, 整備士 is often more precise.
He works as a motorcycle mechanic.
The race team's mechanic inspected the car.
Na-adjective use meaning mechanical in appearance, structure, or feel. メカニカル is a common related form and may sound more natural in many adjectival contexts.
