Medical term for infection by the protozoan Giardia lamblia, often causing diarrhea and abdominal discomfort.
After returning from overseas travel, I was diagnosed with giardiasis.
From the genus name Lambl (named after Vilém Dušan Lambl) + 鞭毛虫 (flagellate) + 症 (disease).
