A yojijukugo expressing the feeling that time passes extremely slowly when one is eagerly waiting for something. Often used in the phrase 一日千秋の思い (the feeling that a single day seems like a thousand autumns).
彼女からの返事を待つ間は、一日千秋の思いだった。
While waiting for her reply, each moment felt like an eternity.
I spent the days until the exam results came out feeling like each day was an eternity.
