Saohime; goddess of Spring
Rare term for a Shinto goddess of spring, also known as 佐保姫 (Saohime). Primarily encountered in classical or mythological contexts.

Saohime has been worshipped since ancient times as a deity who governs spring.
Named for 佐保, an area east of ancient Nara, and 神, “deity.” Its eastern location underlies the association of 佐保姫 and 佐保神 with spring.
