出で札ふだ

In competitive karuta, the card that is read aloud by the reader. Contrasts with 空札 (dead card) and 当たり札 (winning card).

• 読よみ手てが出で札ふだを読よみ上あげると、選せん手しゅたちは一いっ斉せいに札ふだを取とりにいく。

  When the reader reads the read card, the players all rush to take the matching card.
