分ぶん不ふ相そう応おう

beyond one's means; inappropriate to one's station

Describes something that exceeds what is suitable for one's social standing, income, or ability. Often used with な to modify nouns, or as 分不相応に. The synonym 身分不相応 is more explicitly about social status.
