Casual phrase used to express indifference, reluctant permission, or mild dismissal. The trailing けど softens the statement, leaving room for the listener's reaction. Often used when the speaker has no strong objection but isn't enthusiastic.

• 「これ、食たべてもいい？」「別べつにいいけど。」

  "Can I eat this?" "Sure, go ahead."
