A technical term in the philosophy of science, referring to the property of a statement or theory that it can be proven false by empirical evidence. Associated with Karl Popper's criterion of demarcation.
Falsifiability is considered one of the criteria for distinguishing science from pseudoscience.
That theory cannot be called scientific because it lacks falsifiability.
