Historical term for the period of Japanese history from around 250 to 538 CE, characterized by the construction of large keyhole-shaped burial mounds (kofun).
Many keyhole-shaped burial mounds were built during the Kofun period.
Iron weapons were excavated from ruins of the Kofun period.
