In Noh theater, the moment when a character (often the shite) announces their identity and background. Not used for ordinary self-introductions in daily life.

Alternate kanji spelling; less common than 名ノリ.
From 名 (na, 'name') + ノリ (nori, from 宣る noru, 'to declare'). The spelling 名ノリ is conventional for this Noh usage.
