Used for being in a very difficult situation, often with a nuance of struggling to cope. Common with する to mean 'struggle desperately' or 'be hard pressed'.

• 彼かれは借しゃっ金きんで四し苦く八はっ苦くしている。

  He is struggling desperately with debt.

• 新あたらしいシステムの導どう入にゅうに四し苦く八はっ苦くした。

  We had a hard time introducing the new system.
