Buddhist term for the summer period on the traditional lunisolar calendar, from the 16th day of the 4th month to the 15th day of the 7th month. Not used for modern summer.

• 仏ぶっ教きょうの暦こよみでは、夏げは四し月がつ十じゅう六ろく日にちから七しち月がつ十じゅう五ご日にちまでを指さす。

  In the Buddhist calendar, summer refers to the period from the 16th day of the 4th month to the 15th day of the 7th month.
