upstage center (noh stage)
Technical Noh term for the area upstage center, located in front of the 大鼓 (ōtsuzumi) and 小鼓 (kotsuzumi) players.

On the Noh stage, the daishōmae is the position directly in front of the musicians.
Compound of 大小 (daishō, 'large and small', referring to the two drums) and 前 (mae, 'front'). The term is specific to Noh theater.
