Imperial Palace (historical term)

Historical term used especially from 1888 to 1946 to refer to the Imperial Palace. In modern Japanese, 皇居 (こうきょ) is the standard term.

• 戦せん前ぜんの地ち図ずには「宮城きゅうじょ」と記う」ときされていることがある。

  Pre-war maps sometimes have 'Kyūjō' written on them.

• 「宮城きゅうじょ」は現在う」はげんざでは皇居いではこうきと呼ょとよばれることが多おおい。

  'Kyūjō' is now mostly called the Imperial Palace (Kōkyo).
