Describes something that goes on without stopping, often used adverbially as ひっきりなしに. Common with verbs like 続く, 鳴る, 来る, etc.

  The phone is ringing incessantly.

• ひっきりなしに客きゃくが来くるので、休やすむ暇ひまがない。
