Settsu Province
Historical province covering parts of modern Osaka and Hyogo prefectures. Used in historical contexts.
Settsu is one of the old province names that existed until the Edo period.
The province was formerly called 津国, after the important port at 難波. The name 摂津 arose from 摂津職, the government office charged with administering that port.
