unpropitious direction
A term from traditional Japanese directional astrology (九星気学 or similar systems). Refers to a direction that is considered especially inauspicious on a given day or for a given person, often associated with misfortune or accidents. Not used in everyday modern Japanese outside of fortune-telling contexts.
Today's unpropitious direction is the northwest.
