知しらんぷり

pretending not to know; feigning ignorance

Used when someone deliberately acts as if they don't know something, often to avoid responsibility or an awkward situation. Commonly used with する.

• 彼かれは私わたしの質しつ問もんに知しらんぷりをした。

  He pretended not to know about my question.

• 知しらんぷりするのはやめてください。

  Please stop pretending you don't know.
