rite welcoming back the gods from Izumo Shrine
A Shinto ritual held on the last day of the tenth lunar month (Kannazuki) to welcome the gods returning from Izumo. Often paired with 神送り (kamiokuri), the rite of sending the gods off. The term is primarily used in a religious or folkloric context.
