Used when someone deliberately ignores what was said, often to avoid confrontation or to be polite.

• 彼かれは嫌いやなことを言いわれたが、聞きき逃のがして笑わらっていた。

  He was told something unpleasant, but he pretended not to hear and kept smiling.

• 上じょう司しの皮ひ肉にくを聞きき逃のがすことにした。

  I decided to let my boss's sarcastic remark slide.
