Describes an atmosphere or relationship that is warm, friendly, and without conflict. Most commonly encountered in the set phrase 和気藹々 (わきあいあい).

Rare literary use describing lush, thriving plant growth. Almost never used in modern everyday Japanese.

  In classical texts, scenes of vegetation growing luxuriantly are sometimes depicted.
