Used when someone deliberately steers conversation toward a particular topic, often to get another person to talk about it.

• 会かい議ぎで彼かれが環かん境きょう問もん題だいの話はなしを振ふった。

  He brought up the topic of environmental issues at the meeting.

• 彼かの女じょに旅りょ行こうの話はなしを振ふったら、急きゅうに楽たのしそうに話はなし始はじめた。

  When I brought up the subject of travel, she suddenly started talking happily.
