Astronomy term for a vast region of space with very few galaxies. Also referred to as ボイド.

Compound of 超 (chō, 'super') + 空洞 (kūdō, 'cavity' or 'hollow'), literally 'super cavity'. The term is a calque from English 'supervoid' or 'cosmic void'.
