kneeling with the balls of the feet on the floor and sitting on one's heels
A formal seated posture similar to 正座 (seiza), but with the toes bent so the balls of the feet touch the floor, often used in traditional contexts such as martial arts or tea ceremony.

In tea ceremony, one may observe the tea-making procedure while in the kiza posture.
During martial arts practice, we assume the kiza position when listening to the instructor.
