In old texts, 醇 refers to pure sake.
Obsolete adjectival noun meaning pure or unadulterated, often in a figurative sense. Replaced by 純粋 (じゅんすい) in modern usage.
The expression 醇なる心 is old-fashioned; nowadays one says 純粋な心.

The kanji 醇 originally meant 'rich, pure' and was used in classical Chinese to describe unadulterated wine. The Japanese reading じゅん is the on'yomi. The word is now obsolete.
