釈しゃく然ぜんとする

Almost always used in the negative form 釈然としない to express that one is not fully satisfied or convinced by an explanation, apology, or outcome.

• 彼かれの説せつ明めいを聞きいても、どうも釈しゃく然ぜんとしない。

  Even after hearing his explanation, I'm not really convinced.

• 謝しゃ罪ざいの言こと葉ばはあったが、まだ釈しゃく然ぜんとしない気き持もちが残のこった。

  There was an apology, but I still felt unsatisfied.
