A historical term for a wakizashi (short sword) that is longer than the standard size, often used in the Edo period. Compare with 脇差 (wakizashi).

Historical slang for a gambler, derived from the image of such a person carrying a longer wakizashi. Rare in modern usage.
In the Edo period, nagawakizashi was also a slang term for a gambler.
