A traditional Japanese esoteric cosmology and divination system derived from Chinese Yin-Yang and Five Elements philosophy. Often associated with onmyōji (陰陽師) practitioners in the Heian period.
Onmyōdō was widely believed among the nobility during the Heian period.
The ideas of Onmyōdō were used to divine the fortune of directions and calendars.
