English “by way of” is rarely a single Japanese word. Always choose the pattern that matches your intended meaning (route, method, introduction, or purpose). A direct word-for-word translation will sound unnatural.
経由で is only for physical routes (places). によって is for abstract means, methods, or agents. Using 経由で for non-physical routes is a common mistake.
