トランスルーセント

Describes materials that allow light to pass through but diffuse it so that objects on the other side are not clearly visible. Often used in technical, design, or product contexts. Synonymous with 半透明 (はんとうめい), but トランスルーセント carries a slightly more modern or stylish nuance.
